Long Island, with its exorbitant real estate rates and outrageous taxes, may be considered by many, including those of us who live here, as an area for the “rich”. But, Long Island is also an area of rich beauty, culture and history. And, now, Nassau County may be taking residents and visitors alike back to the future with a new, historical museum, all about President Roosevelt, and slated for Oyster Bay.
The museum would allow visitors to enter the former President’s White House Oval office and take a “virtual tour” via holographs.
And, these same holographs would allow them to experience history in the making, as they would be transported to a place and time during President Roosevelt’s command.
It’s all part of an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 square foot project, a museum that would be slightly smaller than The Cradle of Aviation, and that’s expected to run between $50million to $100 million dollars. And, it’s expected to attract at least 500,000 annually.
