Long Island's East End has always been known as the "it" place for a summer retreat even for natives and locals. Most of us associate the East End with sprawling stretches of land filled with fabulous golf courses, wineries, and of course the for its esteemed (and often Hollywood depicted) Hampton scene including its pristine sandy beaches and eclectic nightlife.
But, the east end is also family friendly and offers so much more. From the beginning of spring until the glorious fall, it's often a scene right out of a Norman Rockwell painting and the place to be seen.
Here are just a few of the thrills you can experience out east.
*The Long Island Game Farm and Children's Zoo (Manorville) * Boomers Amusement Park (Medford) * Splish Splash Water Park (Calverton) * Kartz Indoor (Go-Kart) Raceway (Ronkonkoma) * The Riverhead Aquarium (Riverhead) * Amagansett Beach and Bicycle Company (Learn all about the water and water sports: Amagansett) * Stephen Talkhouse (Brews, Blues and music of all types: Amagansett) * Wikcham Fruit Stand and Farm (Pick your own fruits and veggies: Cutchogue) * Sears Bellows Stables (Horseback Riding: Flanders) * Deep Hollow Ranch (Cattle ranch and horseback and pony riding: Montauk) * Montauk Point Lighthouse and Museum ( Montauk) * Viking Fleet whale, porpoise and marine wild life watching tours (Montauk) * Railroad Museum of Long Island (Greenport and Rivierhead) * Children's Museum of the East End (Wainscott/Bridghampton) * Old Water Mill Museum (Water Mill)
