Kids can't really appreciate shopping...well not until they get older and "discover" all the "fun" of the mall. And, we all know that shopping can be a challenge often even for us adults. So, how do you make food shopping more fun...well, if you remember the good old days...part of it was riding on the front of the shopping cart....a modern day "no-no". In fact, according to experts, shopping cart accidents account for about 23,000 child visits to the emergency room annually and experts make the following suggestions instead.
* Place your child in a stroller, wagon, or frontpack rather than in the cart. * Children who "are" placed in carts should be strapped in with a safety harness. *Avoid putting an infant carrier on top of the cart. *Don't put your child inside the basket of the cart. * Never let one child push the cart when another child is in it.
