Paycheck question
I recently started subbing and got my first paycheck in the mail today. I claimed 1 on my W4. This check was for 3 days of work and they did not tgake out any taxes. Then There is a section that says "EXEMPT" Under it says ST: MO1 FED: MO1
Does this mean I am exempt from my first month of taxes??? Then what is FICA?
TIA

Re: Paycheck question
FICA are the taxes that the company are required to take out for social security and something else.
What you claim is in regards to your state and federal witholdings which your company does not have to take out. I would call someone in the payroll deptartment to see how they deal with your witholdings b/c you are only subbing. If they don't take them out you are going to have to be careful b/c you will still owe on those earnings at the end of the year.
