Got called for another interview yesterday...
... when I already accepted another job last month! And the district that called pays like $10,000 a year more than the job I took! Ah well, I have to believe that everything works out for a reason. The people at the new district I'll be working at seem so nice, and I guess that's worth $10,000 at least.... 
Anyway, I know that a lot of you are still looking for teaching jobs for September. I sent this resume the first week in June and they just called me yesterday. I just thought I'd post and let you know that there are still jobs out there! GOOD LUCK to you all!!!

ITA. Circumstances last summer surrounding teaching jobs had me REALLY bummed. But everything worked out beautifully in the end...and it will for you, too!

Thanks everyone! I'm happy about where I'm going in September. It's just... I sent out resumes in June, got called by only one school, had my series of interviews there and got the job. Then in the next 3 weeks, I've gotten calls for interviews from two other schools that pay MUCH higher. Why couldn't they all have called at the same time so I'd have a choice?
Whatever, I'm with you guys: this happened for a reason and it will work out in the end. I really only posted this anyway to give some encouragement to the ladies out there still looking for jobs, and let them know that schools are definitely still calling!

I am glad you said that about being happy with where you are going.
In my opinion, money isn't everything. Many times working in a higher paying district has many more issues than one may think.
Also, some districts have staffs that are very cooperative and helpful. I know for a fact that there is a great staff at the school you are going to!

Yes, it's all available online. The data is from 2005 so it's a litle outdated (in some cases a LOT outdated - a lot changes in 3 years!), but you can compare districts pretty easily.
It's a huge file. Click on it, go into the kitchen and make yourself a sandwich, eat it, dance around the house to burn off those calories, and then wander back over to the computer; it'll almost be finished loading by then.
