Returned from weekend in Newport
We went to Newport on Friday for my cousin's wedding on Saturday. We were there from Friday-Sunday and stayed at the Viking.
We drove from mid-Suffolk without taking the ferry, and it only took 3 1/2 hours each way. Not a bad drive at all. When we arrived we checked in and walked around the town...After a couple hours we pretty much had seen all there was to see in the town. We had dinner at the Brick Alley Pub (delicious, and a very large buffet salad bar), and headed out to the Cliff Walk. Sunset was a wonderful time to go--it wasn't as crowded as during the day on the weekends, and the sunset reflection on the water was beautiful. We met my family for drinks at the bar at the Viking, which was expensive but nice.
On Saturday we grabbed lunch before the wedding at the Black Pearl (also delicious...DH loved their clam chowder) and ate outside. The rest of the day was spent at the wedding festivities but it was at one of the mansions so we enjoyed the views.

Looks beautiful! I keep hearing so many good things about Newport. I think I need to go -- at least to try the clam chowder!

Looks like you had a great time--I love Newport. We ate at both the Brick Alley Pub and the Black Pearl while we were there.
