elliptical machine at home?

Does anyone have an elliptical at home? We have a very small spot for one and I want to get one. I used to use it in my old apartment building's gym all the time and loved it. We are pretty much broke right now but I thought it would be a good thing for us to get as an anniversary present to each other - ha - we could both stand to lose a few pounds.... question:

Which brand to get? Is there something good under $500? Something like a space saver?

We have one - bought it online thru Fitness Quest, if I remember it was 300.00. We had an issue with a part breaking after 3 months, they sent back a brand new machine and paid for shipping of the broken machine back. I was very satisfied with their customer support.

Hi, I bought one a couple years ago from Nordictrack. It was the most basic model (who needs a tv or cd player on their elliptical anyway) and it was about $450 plus delivery. The Norditrack store at the mall, as well as Sears and Best Buy always seem to be running promotions, and I think it's better to buy a quality brand instead of something cheaper - I've had every body part-specific/late night commercial machine you can think of, and I always go back to the elliptical, floor exercises and stretching, free weights and a big rubber ball!
