Re: Treasures Literacy Program

We're working on taking out bits and pieces, but are still getting grounded..as for the daily schedule, this is how it is right now..

Math first period
Reading-first 3 sections or so then a break for a song or movement (they get restless!)
Reading-read aloud
Snack
Rest of phonics, etc.
Prep
rest of reading/writing/small group work
lunch
rest/centers
dismiss

Edited to say I have to take breaks because they get so restless..

Wow we don't have a rest. We also cannot do math first period. Our math must be 75 minutes long. I don't understand how Teachers College and Treasures will work. AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Maybe just writing workshop instead of just reading.

Re: Treasures Literacy Program

Yeah, I really, really don't see how you are supposed to do both, unless you pick and choose and do some kind of hybrid (hope that's the right word)...do you have a coach in your school? Sounds like the perfect opportunity for them to earn their living! ;) (I actually am thinking of becoming one in the future, but..you know what I mean..I hear stories..)

Re: Treasures Literacy Program

Okie...it seems to be going quicker for us lately and we, too, are picking and choosing what we like..we are doing writing during small group time...seems to be working for now, but I know we need more substantial writing in the future...I actually started a fun read aloud today!
