I don't know if I should even bother...

I'm going on an interview tomorrow for a temp position that I don't know if I can handle the responsibilities. It's been a VERY long time since I've had so many responsibilities. I also have never done some of them. Anyway, it's a temp position but it's also a vacant position. Meaning at some point, don't know when yet, that they will be posting the position and then I can apply for it if I want to. This is all if I even get this job which I doubt. Would you even bother? I'd hate to have to put the kids in daycare P/T for a temp job and not know when it's going to end and then not know if I even get the job if I apply for it. It's for a job at Duke in the same building I was working for last time, so parking is expensive but the pay is about $7,000 more per year. It would be great experience on my resume if I could stay there, or at least if it's a temp job stay there for 6+ months. I don't know... what do you think?

The way I look at it, it never hurts to explore an opportunity. You might get into the interview and realize the job is not a good fit. But what if you go and it is a good fit?

I absolutely agree with Frosty. I went on at least two or three interviews where I felt I was not a right fit from the description but you never know. Go on the interview and then decide.

ITA with the other posters. What harm can an interview do?

At least give yourself the opportunity to decide whether you want the job. It's always nice to have options.
