Re: Christmas Eve lunch
A cold cut platter would be perfect. If most of the appetizers are hot then the cold sandwiches will mix it up.

Re: Christmas Eve lunch
You could also make a ham. DH's family used decorate his grandmother's tree Christmas eve, and we'd go after we already ate at his other grandmother's house.
They'd usually just have cold cuts, and one year a spiral ham, since all you really have to do is stick it in the oven, and then you can make sandwiches with it.

Re: Christmas Eve lunch
I am having my IL's over for Christmas Eve lunch. I am making challah bread french toast, sausage, bacon and cheese quiche and putting out some muffins and maybe fruit.
