Annoyed...

Ok I guess I just need to vent. I am really annoyed at my job.

Let's see where should I start

I run the school store and DECA. The school store supports the DECA club. I got permission to bring in a breeze freeze fruit slushie machine. And I went from being able to sell it any time during the day that the store was open to after school only. The DECA club laid out about 2500 to get this machine up and running and its now going to take forever to make the profits we expected it to. During my interview the panel spoke about the school store and how they want it to be made into a place that the kids used. I did that, and they keep changing the rules of what they want because I am making it successful.

Secondly, we have our deca competition on wed. I have 12 students going. I need a chaperone to go with me. Not one teacher in my school will go. I asked around, sent a mass email out. No one is willing to help me. So I emailed the AP who handles field trips to ask if i can use a parent or someone i know. And he still hasn't written me back yet. NO ONE EVER WRITES ME BACK!!!

Thirdly, I was out yesterday because I went to a funeral. I emailed lesson plans to one of the AP's and the secretary who handles subs. Not one of them could write back to confirm they got the email. And then the librarian in my school questions me for missing library duty. She thought I skipped out. I told her I was out all day yesterday and she was telling me that the secretary said I signed in. I had to "prove" to her that I wasn't there.

What the heck is going on with people? I feel like such an outcast in this school. I like my job and my students, but honestly no one communicates there. I hate the fact there are only 2 of us in the department.

I hope I can get a closer job next year and somewhere that is a little more friendly!!!

That stinks...there's always something, isn't there?

I'm FINALLY in a school that I love, with great people, but the curriculum is a mess. It's my first year in 5th grade, and I teach off of the materials they gave me.

Well just now, in January, I come to find out that the materials only cover about half of what the kids are expected to know for the end-of-grade tests.

So basically, I've been teaching below standards all year, and no one bothered to tell me any differently.

Yes it is always something. I seriously left school today and just wanted to scream my whole hour drive home just because I am so annoyed.
