Review:Long Weekend Cruise to the Bahamas on Majesty of the Seas

We went on a family reunion cruise -40 family members this past Thursday.

We sailed on RC- Majesty of the Seas-
We left from Miami and flew AA from LaGuardia.

The plane took off on time- no problems.

Thursday night 20 of us stayed at the Howard Johnson's in Miami- everyone was looking for cheap but clean since we were only going to be there to sleep- It was HORRIBLE- but what did we want from $104.00. It was honestly the most disgusting place again and my cousin is NO LONGER allowed to get any hotels on any other vacations...

We met everyone else at the ship Friday morning- we got on earlier- no problems checking in.

The ship is an older, smaller ship- the food was just okay..nothing out of this world- the escargot was very good- the souffle was excellent but nothing else blew me away.

The dance club-Spectrum was one of the most crowded cruiseship clubs I have ever seen. The DJ was good people were having a really good time.

The comedian ,Rodney was hilarious!

Cococay- I love this place- It was my second time there and it is just so relaxing- We went on the jet ski tour- which I am terrified of, but my cousins and husband convinced me to try it again- I enjoyed seeing other parts of the area on the jet ski- and it was a lot of fun- BUT still, I made my husband go much slower than if it was just him alone- oh well- it was a good time!

The Beach BBQ is decent, the drinks are yummy- the snorkeling is terrific.

Nassau- We went to swim with the dolphins- it was FANTASTIC! One of the best experiences I have ever had! It was so much fun! We even got my mom to go which was a huge thing for her! It was not cheap, but I highly recommend it! The trainers were informative and humorous too. It was just wonderful!

We had some big winners at the casino which was nice- my mom won a nice amount and her cousin won a lot too. DH won a good amount as well so that was nice!

Our stateroom attendant was rude to us! I have never had a bad stateroom attendant until this cruise- I couldn't believe it!

The waiters were okay, again not the best I have seen on other cruises I have been on.

The ship's pools were fine- I don't go in- but we went to the pool after the excursions and we never had a problem finding chairs- the children we were with enjoyed the pools.

None of the children enjoyed going to the Kid Center- they said it was boring- the last night they did enjoy for a short time, they put on a pirate show and were face painted.

The elevators are SLOW- much easier to walk!

(It was my 6th cruise so I think it makes a difference that I have others to compare it to whereas for some family members it was their first cruise so they saw things differently)

Overall we had a great time and the reunion was really nice- good to see many people I haven't seen in a long time and I even met family I have never seen before-

I did the Dolphin Encounter in Nassau once too - it's so much fun!

I've done that sailing. It was my first cruise ever. I totally loved CoCoCay. I wish they had just a 3 day cruise to just CoCoCay. Forit being my first cruise I thought it was a blast. Majesty did a full refurbishment last year. My second cruise was on Liberty and their is just no comparison. Liberty completely blew Majesty out of the water.
