uhhhh pimples!
Every morning I wake up and theres another pimple on my face! I've had this problem on and off since I was 11!!! So, my dermatologist switched my birth control to Yaz, and its just getting worse!!! I don't know what to do anymore, I've been on proactiv, I go to the dermatologist once a month, I am on antibiotics for it again, the birth control, and not to mention all the facial medications I have to slather on myself every night. I even cleaned out my makeup brushes and switched to mineral makeup! What is going on? Any other advice?

Re: uhhhh pimples!
No advice but I hear ya!!!!
I am 40 and never thought I would have worse skin than when I was 17. I am taking an antibiotic for it now too and using prescription everything on my face and it is much better, but I don't want to have to be doing this forever!
Mine is all hormone related.

Re: uhhhh pimples!
I have no advice but I can sympathize. I never had an acne problem my whole life until the last couple of years I have been breaking out like crazy. Even though I'm really careful about keeping my pores clean. It's so annoying! I too think it's hormonal.

Re: uhhhh pimples!
I take Yasmin not yaz, but it took like 3 months and my skin cleared up amazing after that. I had done everything- proactiv to accutane, and this is the only thing that has ever worked.
Just give it a little time to regulate your hormones and for your body to adjust

Re: uhhhh pimples!
I can totally relate to what you're going through. I've been dealing with acne since I was about 14, and I'm now 35! I have been on every possible medication imaginable, including accutane.
I took accutane about 10 years ago and my acne did completely clear up for about 3 years. It eventually came back though, and I was also diagnosed with rosacea about a year ago .
I won't go back on the accutane again because I want to start TTC in the summer, and it's extremely dangerous to be on while PG.
But to answer your question, I've also been seeing a dermatologist and recently tried a topical prescription medication called Duac topical gel, a combo of benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin (a topical antibiotic). It actually worked and my skin has cleared up significantly. Tazorac cream used to also help but the gel version actually made my complexion worse.
BC pills never helped either me nor did oral anitbiotics.
I would ask the derm about the Duac gel. It's pretty tame in comparison to some of the other meds out there but it may help.
ETS: I definitely think it is hormone related for many women.
