Milk

Anyone feel like all they ever do is buy milk? I miss having cases of formula in my house so I didn't have to go to the food store every 3 days to buy milk! And to think I couldn't wait for them to be off formula! Chat Icon

Tell me about it. Worst was when the boys were switched to milk, Costco didn't carry Organic Whole Mile, only the 1%. Now when the boys are on 2% they carry it.

Luckily my MIL works at Stop and SHop, so if we ever need it she picks it up for us. Also since I buy organic I biy alot at a time and it is Ultra Pasteurized so it lasts a while if not opened.

Yup, definitely. Thank god we usually go food shopping together and get 2 carts - 1 to hold all the milk! We usually buy 5 at a time (we get the ultra pastuerized organic too). Or if we go to BJ's then we really stock up bc its .50 cents cheaper there.

We have an extra refridgerator in our garage that holds all this milk.

For me it was not much of a savings, since one of my boy's formula was paid for.

Oh, would the family discount apply to future DIL's?Chat Icon

I have a feeling we'll be getting another fridge soon for the garage.

Does anyone know about Trader Joe's organic milk?
That's a lot more convenient for me than BJ's and Costco.

If not I guess my FIL (who loves to run errands) will be going to Costco for milk runs every few days.

Re: Milk

we buy organic milk and buy about 8 half-gallons at a time, it lasts almost 3 weeks. The girls are not big milk drinkers. I love the organic milk (with the omega 3) because it lasts soooo much longer.

Re: Milk

I buy it at TJ's so I have to go about twice a week and buy 2-3 gallons at a time. I never bag it b/c it's too awkward and on more than one occasion I've left the milk in the shopping cart and have driven awayChat Icon

Now THAT costs a lot! Chat Icon

We have a small fridge so I can only buy 3 or so at a time. I feel like I'm always calling DH to stop and get milk, or I have to make a special trip to get it. I think we may have to go to the extra fridge option like you Theresa!

I used to go to BJ's to get it for $3 for a 1/2 gallon (even Targey a few times, as they carry organic) but its never convenient to get to those stores 2 times per week, so I just buy it at whatever food store I am shopping in.

Theresa - 3 1/2 gallons is 9 at Costco and it is ultra pasteurized so it lasts longer

Trader Joe's is 5.49 for a gallon, but not ultra pasteurized so you can't stock up as much.
