question for the vegetarians...
How long did it take for you to start noticing a difference in how you feel after you gave up meat?
Everyone tells me how great I am going to feel - but I have to be honest..I'm not feeling it. The first week without meat I actually felt AWFUL.
I am trying to be more conscious of my veggie intake and I eat pretty healthy and go to the gym on a regular basis - oh and I am taking vitamins...so when am I going to feel a difference?

I don't know that I felt a difference, though now the thought of eating a dead animal makes me feel like I will feel weighed down. I do feel healthier eating vegetables, but I don't think I would really tell someoen considering vegetarianism that they would feel different.
Why did you feel sick? Are you getting enough nutrients?

Know why you are feeling crappy? You are actually detoxing. Meat has so much crap in it that your body came to recognize and now your body is out of wack. Try having small, frequent and satisfying snacks. Almonds, celery and peanut butter, avocado and wheat crackers, tofurkey SLices, yogurt, etc. Small portions just enough to satisfy you. It could take a month to start to feel good. Also lots ofb fresh veggies and fruit.

The first 2 wks I felt terrible! I was bloated and gassy (sorry if TMI) but it was all the veggies and soy I was intaking which was never the case when I ate meat... After my body got used to the produce overload, I felt great! Give it a couple weeks -
