Re: For those of you who tutor?
I teach in East Meadow.. It's word of mouth... Tell other teachers that you are interested in tutoring.
Parents usually ask teachers if they know any teachers that tutor. I started off with one job -the word spread and I got more tutoring jobs.
Parents usually will ask close to summer and during testing time.
I used to charge $45 now I charge $50... I have my Masters in Reading and could make more but I know a lot of the parents so my rates are less expensive.
Good Luck!

Do you work in a school? That's how I've gotten all of my jobs. Just let other teachers know your interested in tutoring and jobs usually come up. I charge $65 an hour in the Commack/Northport area. Hope that helps!

Re: For those of you who tutor?
i got most of my tutoring jobs by word of mouth in my neighborhood. You could put an add in your local paper or flyers in the library. i charged $ 40 for 1st grade, but next time would say 50.
