question to crocheters and knitters... have you checked out ravelry?
it's the newest, latest, hottest thing in the fibre art world.
i'm still learning my way around and i'm still not sure if i like it or not.
has anybody checked it out?
do you like/dislike it?

I never heard of this until you posted. so i looked it up and still kinda clueless about what it is, since no site i pulled up really explains it.
I found this picture of a really cute sweater for a little one.. i wish i had the talent to make but looks very complicated and i cant seem to get past single and double stitching on crocheting. and knitting well tried to teach to myself and failed.

too look around you have to be a member, and it's easy to become a member.
i'm still new to it all and i'm still learning my way around.
it's a forum for knitters and crocheters mostly. but there is also much love for spinners, weavers and so on.
it's similar to here: a msg board. but there are neat tools available that can help you keep track of the things you've made, things you want to make, things you want to buy and so forth.
with the pretty pictures, you can see what other people have made, and how it turned out and if they had any issues.
when i first signed up, i was starting to feel that it was over-rated, but i'm warming up to it all. i've joined a few groups and i'll be taking pictures of project to upload this weekend.
i signed up in april and i've already learned a few new techniques.
i hope that was a decent description of the site

I wish I could have the initiative to do cables. I love doing my simple patterns. I am more of a process knitter. I love doing the same things over and over again and never get bored.

i know what you mean about doing the same thing over and over... but cables are actually very easy. give it a try on something small, like a washcloth/dishcloth. you might like it.
