Frustrated because I can't Exercise
My knee is injured.
I don't know what's wrong with it yet exactly.. I'm going to the orthopedist soon.
It keeps getting stiff and painful at the joint and under the joint. I don't have the full range of motion with it. Behind the knee feels tight. I've been limping and when I land on it, it hurts like hell.
It's been on and off for a couple of years, doctors always just send me to physical therapy, never see anything on MRI's but the problem keeps coming back.
It's been worse lately since I've been working out more. Running, Walking, elliiptical, bike... no matter what I do it kills my knee, and then I can barely walk the next day, even though I stretch and everything.
Exercise is the only thing that stops me from gaining weight and now I can't even do that  I still do some of the strength training but no more cardio.
Sorry to be such a downer. It's just when I try to do something good for myself and I finally make progress with my running, I have to stop

I am sorry to hear you are injured.
The same type of thing happened to me back in April/May. I was sick for a month with terrible bronchitis. I had just gotten into a great routine with cardio and hardcore pilates and I had to stop everything.
My body started to lose that firmness that I created by doing the exercise and I was bummed. However, as soon as I was better, I got right back into it and now I feel great again.
Just take the time to get yourself better and just get back into a good routine as soon as you can. You'll be fine!
ETA: pilates has totally changed my body and it's GREAT for people that have injuries because it is easy on the joints. I highly recommend it!

What about swimming? When I got injured right before a marathon I swam all the time to keep up my cardio and it worked!

I was thinking the same thing. I know someone who had to continue to work out and thats what he did while his leg injury healed, and he stayed in great shape.
