I think my Dh is getting a 3.5% raise in 09 so hopefully we will break even or so since they said everything went up about 3 %...

I started my own small business in the plans of resigning from my current job. Now I'm planning on continuing to do both well into 2009

No... because then what little free time DH and I have will be gone. I'd rather cut back on things like vacations (which we've done) and eating out and nights out, etc.

I *wish* that's all we needed to do.

Yes, I'm seriously looking for a second job and frankly, it sucks. I've already done the second job thing before and I hardly ever saw my husband or had any free time. But if it comes down to free time and PAYING our BILLS, I will HAVE to make that sacrifice.

Re: In light of all of the economic hardships...?

My husband actually got his first decent raise in his entire career as a cop so we are actually doing better.
I don't really feel a big difference so far...

yes, but my DH will. Right now money is tight for us AND we're expecting (def not ideal). in order to make things work, DH will have to get a 2nd job. I wish he was more motivated though. He's def. on the lazy size.

Re: In light of all of the economic hardships...?

we both already have two jobs.

We will continue with two jobs until we can't anymore.

We are just cutting back a bit, making different choices.

Re: In light of all of the economic hardships...?

as i've returned to being a single-mom in recent weeks, i have to say i don't have the time. i already feel guilty that my son is spending so much time alone as it is Chat Icon

i'm SERIOUSLY cutting back on the things i had already started to cut back on, and praying really hard that i can keep my head above water

Not me as I'm pregnant, one job is enough for my body right now. But DH plans on it shortly, we'll need extra money for the baby and also since I'll be out of work for a few months...also to keep contributing to our "buy a house" fund.

Re: In light of all of the economic hardships...?

I already had a little side thing going

but I just started a 2nd one

I am really excited about it actually

so that's 3 "jobs" for me

but I don't have a traditional 9 to 5 job - so my days are much more flexible-but I feel like I work 24/7
