OMG- DH is getting another neck operation
maybe as soon as next week
I am freaking out
I hope this will finally end this and we can move on for real this time
that will make 3 operations in less then 12 months

Spinal fusion with a threaded dowel - between C3&C4....

Oh no...is it an adjacent disc to where he had his fusion last time? I've been told that fusion surgery puts more stress on the adjacent discs and can cause problems in the future.
Lots of that everything goes well!

yep
he actually got into a car accident 3 months after the first operation
and I think the fact that he had one done already- caused this one to be worse then the first
good thing his PT doc caught it - just before they were going to close the no-fault case

yep

Oh my GOD!!! yes - it does make sense that a 'previously injured' spot is much more sensitive...
i'm so sorry for his pain - it's horrifying...

This is very true. I had a spinal fusion done on most of my spine. There's just a small portion that is not fused. Now, that small portion (lower back) is curved, deteriorted and fractured. I have spondylolisthesis and should have the rest of it fused.

Lots of for him! I'm sure he will be fine in the end. I have a spinal fusion and contrary to what alot of people say, it does not always cause problems in the future. If you are careful and take care of yourself, it can totally be avoided. I hope the same goes for the disc replacement! Keep us posted!

ok, Tuesday it is
I am glad he is getting it over with
he wanted to wait b/c of thanksgiving- we have plane tickets to FL
but it's a no fault case- so we are too worried to wait
