How do you stay motivated?

I have been following WW for over a year & lost 30 lbs. Granted I haven't lost anything in the last 5 months or so because I quit my job and went back to school. I have maintained that whole time but now..... for the past 2 weeks all I can do is eat eat eat! I have gained like 5 lbs. I am really annoyed with myself which makes me want to eat. So how do you stay motivated and do you have any tips to get back on track.

well I have lost about 25lbs since mid July I changed my eating habbits and then strated bike riding and then jogging so when I do take days off from eating right and I feel crappy I remember all the time and effort that it took to lose that weight and I still would like to lose 20 more lbs so I dont want to ruin it because I cant control my appetie

when I am having one of those days where all I want to do is eat I leave the house and focus on something else

I find the best motivation is my husband. Does your DH have the same mindset as you (wants to keep healthy, stay in shape, etc)? It's so much easier to stay on track if you have someone there doing it with you.

Also, don't keep too much food in your house to snack on and what you do have there make sure it's healthy (carrots & fat free dip, other veggies, fruit, plain almonds, pretzels, turkey, wheat bread).

I know for me, sometimes i'll eat out of boredom so if you find yourself at home with not much to do, find something to do! Chat Icon Go through your DVR and watch a show you recorded, hop on LIF, call someone you haven't spoken to in a while, start a new book, clean or rearrange an area in your house, etc.

I stay motivated by setting small goals for myself that aren't too difficult to reach. I find that I have all these great expectations or think of a large number that I want to lose, I set myself up for failure. But if I set little goals - like losing weight 5 pounds at a time - I am more motivated. I also reward myself. This time I promised myself that when I lose 10 pounds I will treat myself to a massage. Little things like that keep me going!

I have small & long term goals. Small term are 5 lb marks. Long term I look at the next smallest size and my ultimate goal. I also envision what I want to wear on my next vacation.

I have been on WW forever (2 yrs) so after awhile I got into a rut and I stayed the same for MONTHS. I had to "start over" mentally and that really worked.

I am like Crystal I ALWAYS have goals for myself.

Have you lost all the weight you wanted to? If not, think about why you first walked into the ww center and what you REALLY wanted to achieve. I also like to entertain myself by switching things up. Try new recipes, take a new exercise class, maybe recruit a new buddy to join you in the process. Treat this week like it's week 1 all over again. Journal, plan, prepare.

Now that I am at goal weight I am focusing on fitness and toning. I even bought a pair of white size 8 pants (I am now wearing 10s) to wear on a cruise we are going on in February! They are my new goal pants Chat Icon

Whatever you do, just keep going. Eventually things will click for you again. The alternative is to just slip even further and gain back what you worked so hard to get off. You can do this, just re-find that focus you once had!

for me, the biggest hurdle is just getting to the gym - i hate the parking, i hate going out in the cold. but working out is like sex - once you've done either, it's not like you sit around afterward thinking 'man, i shouldn't have done that.' Chat Icon

but once i'm working out, the eating really falls into place.

also, i measure myself weekly. a tape measure is really a better tool for me than the scale; i feel defeated when i lost only one pound, but when i see that i've lost a half inch, i feel like i've accomplished something.
