Bibliography/Works Cited for 5th grade?

I gave my kids the option of an open writing assignment and they all want to do research papers :P

I've never done one w/ my kids, so I'm curious as to how you have your 5th graders cite works? Do you just have them list the websites/books? Is there a format that is a bit more simple than typical MLA format?

I have a works cited chart to help the students get all the info and then how to write it. If you FM me your email, I can send it to you.

For my 7th graders I have them follow MLA. Most of our school's sites have the MLA citation for them, but for books and other sites I give them a model to follow. I find that in 7th grade it is helpful to prepare them for what they need to do in 8th-12th grade. Not sure if all schools do that though...there might be an easier way.
