How do you handle this?
How would you handle a situation in which you recently received a promotion, but still have people from other dept request stuff even tho its no longer part of your job description?
I honestly dont mind doing it if I had the time, but Im falling behind on my work. Also, Im not too sure if my manager has made it clear to this dept of my new role.

Re: How do you handle this?
hmm well I don't know how your relationship is with your manager. If it was me I'd ask my manager to give word to the other dept that I am now part of a new dept and they should not be requesting anything from me. The alternative is just to tell the co-workers from the other dept when they ask you to do something that you would love to but now that you have a new role at the office you just don't have the time.

Re: How do you handle this?
You take their request and tell them that you will personally forward their request to the person who now handles it. You *might* step in to help the new person handling what you used to do to make sure the requester's need are met if if a more "difficult" issue.
If it's the requester does not get the hint after a few requests, I would forward to your manager.

I would tell them your job description changed and that they should see xyx to get the answer they are looking for.

Directly to your manager you go. Don't take this on yourself.
