I've never made it before and know it is pretty basic...but does anyone have a good recipe for this? I have a some sausage in the freezer and would like to make it. Thanks!

Re: Sausage and Peppers
Theres alot of different ways you can make it. I make it different everytime, not on purpose either, I just forget lol. I made it like this on Thursday and it turned out really good.
In a large, deep pan heat olive oil (enough to coat the bottom of pan). Add sausage ( I cut them into peices and usually take the casings off - I just like it better without them) Cook sausage until no longer pink. Add peppers and onions (cut into strips). Add beef stock (or beef broth) and tomato sauce (canned is fine, you can also use stewed tomatoes or any tomato with a juice in it). Cover and simmer until broth is boiling and peppers are tender. Serve over rice. I eyeball everything so I can't give youexact measurements but as far as adding the liquids, its really your preference if you want more or less sauce to the s&p.

Re: Sausage and Peppers
Here is how I make it, and everyone always loves it:
6 sausages (sweet italian). 2-3 large green peppers 1-2 red peppers 1 large onion 1 small can tomatoe sauce
Slice the onion vertically into strips. Cut the tops off the peepers and clean them out. Slice them into strips. Add peppers and onions to a large pan with a little bit (just enough to coat the bottom of the pan) of olive oil. Add a little salt and cover. Heat on low until peppers are kind of soft. In the meantime, cook the sausage. I usually put them on the George forman grill for 4 minutes. If not, fry them, but use little oil. Cook them until *almost* done. (80% or so). Remove sausages and cut them into "pennies". Add sausage to peppers and onions. Add 1 can tomatoe sauce. Simmer for @ 5 minutes. Enjoy!! You can put on a hero, eat as is or even put over rice.

Re: Sausage and Peppers
I liek my saus & peps white. So i make them like this.
I usually use The pin wheel sausage not the links. But u can if you want I also use every color pepper because each pep has a different taste. so 1 red green orange yellow pepper.
I get onion cut them in long strips then i cut the peppers in long strips as well. Put them all in in one pan. I add black pepper, oregano, olive oil & alot of fresh garlic & garlic powder. (You can use the garlic powder if u dont have real garlic. Just use alot) a little salt (usually id ontuse any at all but depends on your taste). I putthem in the oven 350 until they r soft (very soft)
As the peps & onion are in the oven i brown my sausage in a pan just rim the pan slighly with oil & brown them until crispy. When done throw the entire thing juice & all in with the peps & onions. Thats it. If you want you add potatos to it. Just microwave the potato half waythen cutthem in bite sizes & throw them in teh pan as well. But everytime you add more stuff u need to put more garlic pepper & oregano. Also get a niceloaf of Italian bread the juice is awesome! Remember dont pour a ton of oil in if you do just dump some out at the end.
GOOD LUCK!

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce
Ingredients - 8 (4 ounce) links fresh italian sausage -1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce -2 red peppers, seeded and sliced into strips -1 onion, sliced
Directions - Poke a fork hole in the italian sausage links and boil for 20 minutes
-Place the Italian sausage links, spaghetti sauce, red pepper and onion into a slow cooker. Stir to coat everything in sauce. Cover, and cook on Low for 6 hours. Serve on hoagie rolls, or over rice.

Re: Sausage and Peppers
I just cut up some yukon gold potatoes, green or red peppers and onions. Slice up the sausage...mix all together in a 9x13 pyrex, coat with some pam and adobo, cook at 350 for 1-1 hour 15 minutes ( I do not like sauce on mine)

Re: Sausage and Peppers
I use approximately 1 lb of sweet Italian sausage. I brown the sausage in the oven on both sides. Then I add about 2 or 3 peppers and 1-2 onions. I use the red, orange and yellow peppers. I throw that over the sausage. Once the peppers and onions start to get softer I take out the sausage cut it up and then throw it back into the peppers and the onions and mix it up. Then I continue to cook until the peppers and onions are soft. It creates a lot of juice. Have a fresh loaf of Italian Bread ready and you are all set…YUM!

I use chicken sausage and we usually grill it. At the same time I saute onions, peppers and some spices for about 20 minutes until all the peppers are soft (we like them mushy soft)...and then we cut up the sausage and throw everything together! Yumm!

Re: Sausage and Peppers
I dont have a recipe per say.
I cook the sausage in the oven, when its almost done, I take it out and slice it, put it back in the pan and add about 8 sliced cubanelle peppers and s&p, 1/4 cup tomato paste (i dont like it too tomatoey) and about 1/8 cup of low sodium kikoman (u can use regular too).
I cook it on high, like 400/450 until the sausage is cooked and the peppers are soft.
Kikoman sounds weird, but it doesnt taste asian at all. It just adds a kick. I thought my mom was nuts when I heard she put it in there, but its always yummy.
We put it on italian bread.

I'd add my recipe but I think everyone has covered it. As for sides - rice or pasta or you can buy some italian bread and make mini hero sandwiches with a salad.

I follow this recipe but use a can crushed tomatoes instead of tomato sauce and use both red and green bell peppers.
