Lingering cough after upper respiratory infection

I got an upper respiratory infection from my mother. My dr gave me the z-pack which I finished last Thursday and I still have this lingering, phlegmy cough My mom has had the lingering cough for almost 2 weeks already. And now DS is starting with the cough. My mom went back to the dr and said her lungs are clear and it might be viral. I am wondering if I should go back to the dr.

Is this something that is going around?

I am a teacher so I am definitely up to date on all the things going around.... (also because I catch it all myself!)

There's def a cough going around! I would at very least call your dr and he might not even need you to come in- might just be able to call in an antibiotic to the pharmacy if he feels you need one.
