Anyone's DCs have a chronic cold/respiratory infection?
It seems like my DS and DD have both had colds for over a month! Just when it seems to go away for one of them, it gets worse for the other.
They've been on different antibiotics over the past month, and I just feel so bad for them.

This has been a bad cold season. Could it possibly be allergy related. My DD used to have a cold and runny nose for 11 out of 12 months of the year and on antibiotics for about half the time, until we realized that it's allergy related. The post nasal drip leading into an upper respiratory infection. She has since grown out of alot of her allergies, but used to live on claritin for months but with no infections so that's what worked for us.
Hope they get better.

I'm having the same problem, my 2 year old and one of the twins have been coughing for at least a month, when the doctor saw them when it first started, he said it was just a cold. I'm going to bring them on monday again, the coughs sound so terrible even though they don't seem bothered by them at all.

I've been to the MD with them 4 times! Sometimes he says it's just a cold, and other times he feels antibiotics are necessary. Either way, they get better for a few days, maybe a week, and then are back to being sick...even with low grade fevers.
DS's cough sounds really bad as well! But it doesn't seem to bother the pediatrician. Maybe we just have to wait for the weather to consistently be warm and these colds will stop.

I never thought about allergies. I am completely miserable all spring due to my allergies, I just didn't think both DCs would have them this young. How did you diagnose your DC with allergies? Do they do things like scratch tests on 3 years olds or 1 year olds?
