Thyroid Question
I just had bloodwork done because I have not been feeling too hot lately and my thyroid level is slightly elevated which would indicate an underactive thyroid.
I am going for a sonogram of the thyroid next week.
Anyone who has an underactive thyroid, do you know what your tsh levels were and what were your symptoms?
TIA

Re: Thyroid Question
My TSH was over 100 when I was diagnosed but rarely does it ever get that high. Normal levels are .5 to 5, but most people feel best under 2. Some symptons are exhaustion, dry skin, brain fog, muscle fatigue ( I found it difficult to write, brush my teeth, hair, etc), feeling cold, hair loss, thinning of eyebrows, and weight gain and inability to lose weight. My heart beat was much slower, too. There are more symptons but these are the main ones I had. If you need any more info, feel free to fm me.

WOW 100, I didn't think it could go that high.
My levels were only 5.5. Do you think I could be experiencing any of those symptoms with that slight of a difference?

Re: Thyroid Question
many doctors consider anything over 3 high. YYou could always have them take it again. Mine varies by the time of the day and month becuase of a hormone imbalance

Re: Thyroid Question
5.5 is out of range so you definitely can have symptoms. Like lbride said, many doctors do consider anything above 3 to be hypothyroid now. If my levels go up above 2, I start feeling a lot worse. I feel best at a little under 1.
