Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
What are some nice light tan or light taupe paint colors? I am looking specifically for colors that don't have any pink hues to them (we have a light beige color now in our living room/kitchen and I see peachy/pink hues to it and I want to stay away from that)
This would be for a kitchen with white cabinetry, dark wood floors and probably black counters....
I like BM Lenox Tan but I think that color would be too dark/too much contrast.....I need something that won't make the room look dark - but will help brighten it...
Anyone have any nice color recommendations? Or pics?
I love black counters paired with white cabinets and figured we could do dark hardware on the cabinet doors as well (love that!) - but I'm not sure if the black counter will clash with a tan/taupe color on the walls I've been trying to find inspiration photos but I'm not having much luck....
ETA picture - these are our everyday dishes - they are taupe so I was thinking maybe something that would compliment our dishes - I'm not looking to match them - but we're thinking of doing some glass doors in the kitchen so I'd like everything to coordinate....
Any other color suggestions? Or should we re-think the countertop color? Image Attachment(s):

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
Here are some of the colors I *think* like - some of the colors are more taupe/gray which I think would look better with a black counter than a straight beige...
Does anyone have any of these colors?
BM Monroe Bisque BM Stone House BM Ashen Tan BM Camoflauge BM Nantucket Gray (think I would prefer this for a living or bedroom) BM Bleeker Beige

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
Our downstairs 1/2 bath is BM Yosemite Sand. Finished basement is Lenox tan which is a great tan but it may be a tad dark depending on other colors in the kitchen. DS's room is BM ladyfinger and we have also used barely beige in the past (not in this house). We are very very tan people (friends joke with us often about this) and I am BIG on finding a tan that is non-fleshy. All of these fit that bill...not too grey and not fleshy at all

check out this site DecorPad.com . Go to Kitchens on the left side or you can search by color under the Paint Gallery. This is a great site. They even tell you the color of the paint on the walls most of the time in each picture.
I think that the colors you are going for will look really nice together. If I come along some pics I will send them to you.

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
Nik check out this site. This is the site I use when I'm trying to make a paint choice for a room. Love this site. You can usually change the type of room, the color of the ceiling, walls, cabinets, flooring. Have fun with it and play around with the colors. They do have Benjamin Moore colors and I believe Sherwin Williams also. All the flooring is Armstrong. It's really fun to play around with. You can even change to tiled flooring if you want. Just look for the drop down menus to change to other things. And the colors of the paint don't look right on this site when you put them into the picture. So go with a darker color to get the look you want so you can see it. Hope this helps!
Armstrong.com
Here is one that I did for you so you see what it can do.

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
when I think taupe - i think a slight purple hue...
I used BM Rustic Taupe in my old LR and 2 shades lighter - which I think was Baja Dunes
not sure how well you can see the colors (these are the only pics I have left)
above the couch is Rustic Taupe....above the TV cabinet is Baja Dunes
ETA: you might like the one in between - Cabot trails. Not sure if this will directly link you to the color, but you can search on the fan link

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
My favorite color is BM Smokey Taupe. We used it in our foyer and it's SO nice. No pink or yellow undertones, more like purple-y but it's just a great color and changes a bit with the light. If we would have found it sooner I would have used it in more areas of the house!
In the morning:
In the late afternoon:
You can see how much more yellow the Shaker Beige looks on the wall at the top of the stairs against it...
We repainted that wall too:

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
thanks guys
i think that i prefer the more grayish/purple taupe colors vs the yellow/tan taupe colors - i dont even know if i am describing them right
i originally thought i would like colors like shaker beige and lenox tan - those colors seemed pretty popular and i had been saving pics on my computer of rooms in those colors for the last few months for ideas....but now i think i am liking the BM colors smokey taupe, cedar key, baja dunes and i like stone house too...those colors seem to have more of a purple/gray tone to them....
i guess i just have to wait and see how i like those colors paired with the tile that is in the foyer and kitchen - we decided we are going to keep all of the tile...the only thing is i'm not sure what the exact color of the tile is - i only have a few pics where you can see it, but it is hard to tell in photos - the tiles look more beige/yellowish to me so i am not sure if the colors i like will compliment the floor or if i would be better off painting colors with more of a yellow/tan/camel in them....
i guess i have to wait until i am down there to compare the tile with paint swatches
this is the foyer
keep in mind nothing would be staying in the kitchen except the floor (white cabinetry, stainless appliances, dark counters)

Re: Light Tan/Taupe Colored Paints
shaker beige would be pretty with your dishes. i have that and lenox tan in my house and the shaker is lighter without the blushy color to it.
