Team Green
I *try* not to be I do lurk on the preggo boards and I have been reading a lot of posts about team green ladies and how hard it is for them to "stay strong" and not find out the sex.
Am I only one who doesnt get it? I respect any woman who doesnt want to find out, dont get me wrong, but if it is THAT HARD for you not to know, why do it to begin with??
Thoughts on this? Anyone here have a DC already and was team green? Do you think it is really that much more exciting to find out in the delivery room as oppose to at the Level II?
I personally will be finding out ASAP. I want to plan and buy everything gender based and Id like to start referring to my baby by name once I find out the sex.
Im definately NOT knocking team greeners...I just dont get it and Id like too

Re: Team Green
I'm certainly going to find out! There is no way I could wait...but people say it's a wonderful experience...I feel it will be the same experience when I wait in that sono room...but i guess the waiting for 9 months makes it that much sweeter??
I don't know...I will be on team blue or pink for sure!

Re: Team Green
i always wanted to find out.. until recently.. DH and I wanted to be on Team Green. when our time comes.
and reason being.. is we heard from other Team Greeners.. that it is just the most amazing moment to find out the sex at birth.. so i wanted to experience this too.
now i can totally see it being hard.. and people fight there way through to stay strong and not find out... when all they have to do is ask.. simple as that! so i can see where they are coming from for sure! i know i will have to fight myself.. all just for that doctor saying .. "its a boy" or "its a girl" its just so amazing and beautiful to me!
hope this makes sense!

Re: Team Green
I will definetly be finding out the sex i'm too much of a planner not to. I think its the same joy and feeling of surprise as if you were to find out at birth.
I just don't like when people say it's lifes one true surprise. I've been handed enough surprises as is, thank you!

Re: Team Green
As of right now, I would definitely not want to find out. I prefer more neutral clothes/decorations. I am afraid that if I found out (esp. if it was a girl) my crazy MIL would go nuts buying VERY gender specific things, which would annoy me to no end.
All that being said, I have zero patience, so I don't know if I'll actually be able to wait it out!!

I always wanted to be Team Green for the excitement in the delivery room but DH said no way, I said "on our 2nd maybe?" and he said "no way",

Re: Team Green
I was with DS and will definitely be again if/when I get blessed again. I am 100% planner, Type A all the way but I knew if I could hold out, that moment would be worth the wait and it truly was. I KNEW it was a boy (even had a dream about him 2 weeks before I had him) and when they put him on me, I said "I knew it was you" I know its a surprise whenever they tell you but hearing it in the heightened emotion of the delivery room is truly a magical moment. DH always said for #2 he would want to find out and now he feels stronger than I do that he'd never want to miss out on that moment with any of our future children.
One thing to consider, you're better off registering for neutral big stuff anyway because then you have it for the next baby.
ETA: Lisa, what happened to that pact about staying off thay board for a while???

I will be totally honest, I refrained from going on there until just this week because i was trying to reach 1000 posts and I knew there would be posts on there that I could just throw in a quick "congrats" and tally up the posts!!
Now that I have reached 1000 I am done on that board, I pinky promise

Re: Team Green
We were team with our first child-lost him at 20 weeks. Then we were team again with DS.
I cannot tell you how wonderful it felt for them to tell me he was a boy when they put him on my stomach. I had waited at that point 61 pregnancy weeks to have a baby, and he was there! It was like opening up a present and truly not knowing what it was.
It was a lot of fun watching people guess if he was a boy or girl, and it was even better watching people get MAD at us because they wanted to know so bad. I can't tell you how many 8 year old adults we encountered. We laughed at each and every one of them.
It was hard not to find out during the pregnancy sonos, only because you are a second away from a tech telling you at any given moment. For a tech to know, and not you, is very tempting.
As for not getting blue or pink things-it was better that we didn't have all pink or blue bc for us, we didn't even have a house-so no nursery to create. I got to do that after he was born, and it was just as special.
We will be team for all of our children. Our entire family has always been team . The anticipation is the best part!

Re: Team Green
I was team green with DS and had no problem not knowing. I didn't want everything to be pink or blue for my first child bc I planned on having more kids and wanted to be able to use everything I got for all my babies. I loved the excitement of finding out in the delivery room and telling everyone. It also freaks me out a little (no offense to anyone else) when people refer to their unborn babies by name. I don't know why....it just does. Plus, there is always a chance the sex will be wrong. With this pregnancy we are going to find out, but are undecided as to whether or not we will tell everyone. For us it will be easier to prepare for #2 knowing the sex, but it was definately worth the wait the first time around. I say to each his own, but exactly if it is so hard to not find out....then just find out!

Re: Team Green
I'm Team Green and wouldn't have it any other way. We've been through so much to have a baby- 2 losses and this pregnancy in the past year, and I want that OMG! moment to happen in the delivery room. I've waited this long (28 weeks) I can wait 12 more.
That being said, sometimes it is hard. My SIL is pregnant too, and when they found out, I was a bit jealous that she could go shopping right away. I want to buy all the clothes, but on the other hand, I think of all the money I'm saving by not knowing! I know that it will be worth it in that moment in the delivery room. And it is fun hearing everyone's guesses about what they think it is.
