I have my BA from Queens College- Family, nutrition and exercise sciences- I teach Home and Career skills ( FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES) I did my masters @ Stonybrook.
Years ago I totally recommend to everyone to get a masters in family and consumer sciences, there were so many openings, know when thought about it, now it is very hard to get a teaching postion..
I would say a tech teacher is starting to become a demand and will continue until another few years

Elem Ed. a little different b/c my BA was not in education. I did an intensive cohort 13 month program for non ed. majors at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
