Long Island Attorneys/ Legal Secretaries

Hello everyone!!

I am new over here. I just got out of law school after a miserable summer associate position at a vault top 20 (getting out at 4am). I got a job as an attorney at a firm on the Island, and I'm dying to know what to expect in terms of hours.

I dont mean this in a laziness way at all, and truthfully, in this economy, if they asked me to pave the driveway in between cases I'd do it (lol), but I'm not sure about feeding the dog, etc. I know I took a $110K salary cut coming out here (yes, that is a real number...), so now I guess I'm second guessing it and worried the hours will be the same.

I'm thinking it will be 9-9 but I've heard 9-6...

Any words of wisdom/experience will be appreciated.

I work at a small firm and I work 9:30 until around 6:30-7:00. I have worked later and have also worked later but that seems to be the average.

I am not in the office in the morning as I am in court everyday - however, my day usually starts at 9 and ends around 6. You can always take the work home w/ you if need be.
