Relocating?

Any advice for looking for jobs when you are relocating? Recently purchased a home near Albany, NY but I am still working on Long Island. I know the market is tough, and I am lucky to have a job, but I dont even know where to begin. I am looking for an attorney job. Should I just start sending my resume out to firms? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
