technically NY is an at-will employment state. This means you can quit or be fired for any reason at any time.

The company does have a right to change your hours and fire you if you refuse to work the new hours. Might not be the nice or "right" thing to do, I am just saying it's legal.

If you haven't worked the full 3 months, your UE benefits are based on this most recent job and the job you held before that one.

Sorry you are going through this, it doesn't sound like they were upfront or honest with you in the beginning. Even if they had put your original hours in writing, unfortunately, they can still change them.

Best of luck finding a new position, you deserve to be happy. Chat Icon

ITA. Even if they were upfront with you, they could still change your hours & require you to travel unless you are bound by a labor contract.
