Anyone else slowly losing interest?

I don't know..... maybe it's the shorter days..... the cold weather that's inevitably approaching....... but my head is NOT in the classroom, as bad as that sounds.

I just feel like I'm losing patience lately and live for the weekends Chat Icon

Maybe I just feel this way now because it's a Sunday night. And, of course, nobody knows the Sunday night blahhhhhhhhs better than a teacher! Chat Icon

Anyone else? Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else slowly losing interest?

completely!! I'm a speech therapist at an elementary school. I'm the only therapist in TWO schools, i have over 60 kids on my caseload so far... and more getting added every day. Literally- every day i walk into work to find an e-mail or a note from a teacher who has a kid she wants me to "listen to", and most of the kids are qualifying!! i don't know how much more i can manage!! with all the IEP and special ed paperwork i have to do, ON TOP OF actually seeing the kids and trying to make progress with them. ( how can i REALLY work on each kids articulation errors when i have 3 or 4 other kids in a group with them--- how is it really making a difference??
I am just getting overwhelmed this year, and not sure what to do... ugh!! now i know why we get so many days off during the year!!

I think that's actually a better way of explaining how I feel.... Not so much that I'm losing interest, I'm just getting overwhelmed.

I also have so much going on outside of school between buying a house and TTC that it's hard to put forth my full amount of energy on school.
