Finger really sore - cuticle infection??

My finger is really sore and tender around the cuticle.

I got a mani 2 weeks ago but I never let them cut my cuticles. That being said, I do think she filed to closely.

Has anyone ever had anything like this happen? How did you treat it??

I just had this, try soaking it in epsom salt and warm water every day for about
10-15 minutes, I did it 2 times a day. I ended up with an abscess and fungus under my fingernail. But the abscess opened up, sorry if TMI, and it felt so much better. Feel better!

Thanks! I just read to soak it in vinegar for 15 minutes. I guess it's the same thing.

Soak it in salty water, or epsom salt with warm water. Put a band aid and some antibacterial ointment. If it doesn't get better in a day or two, you will need to see a dr for an antibiotic. Even if they don't cut your cuticles, they push them back and bacteria can get in and infections there can get very severe. I almost had to have my toenail removed due to one...luckily the oral abx worked. That was when I stopped going for mani/pedi...just freaked me out too much.

Well I've been doing the vinegar and Neosporin and it feels much better today -- thanks for the advice. I think I'll be staying away from amni/pedis -- or at least from this place!!
