I got a new kid yesterday. He is from Haiti. Chat Icon He speaks NO English. I introduced myself to him in passing and later asked how his day was going. He gave me a big smile and said "Sebastian!" (his name) Chat Icon Chat Icon

So I don't know what to do with him. I am looking for very basic worksheets with vocabulary and pictures to start. We have an assembly so I won't be teaching his class today but I want to have something for him to do tomorrow.

TIA

I'm not ESL, but enchanted learning has basic picture and word type worksheets.

Your elementary school might have a login, but some worksheets can be accessed for free and an annual subscription is only $20 or so.

Does anyone in your school have an Oxford Picture Dictionary and workbook? I teach ESL and I always like to use those in the beginning. They make them in Haitian Creole/English, I think. If not, try enchantedlearning.com or I like to use manythings.org, or even gamestolearnenglish.com to practice on the computer.

Thanks ladies. I used very basic worksheets with him today and they were too easy. Chat Icon

Of course, gamestolearnenglish.com is blocked by the DOE. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sixth. He actually knows more than I thought, so that's good.
