Heelllllppppp (esp. ESL teachers)
I got a new kid yesterday. He is from Haiti. He speaks NO English. I introduced myself to him in passing and later asked how his day was going. He gave me a big smile and said "Sebastian!" (his name)
So I don't know what to do with him. I am looking for very basic worksheets with vocabulary and pictures to start. We have an assembly so I won't be teaching his class today but I want to have something for him to do tomorrow.
TIA

I'm not ESL, but enchanted learning has basic picture and word type worksheets.
Your elementary school might have a login, but some worksheets can be accessed for free and an annual subscription is only $20 or so.

Does anyone in your school have an Oxford Picture Dictionary and workbook? I teach ESL and I always like to use those in the beginning. They make them in Haitian Creole/English, I think. If not, try enchantedlearning.com or I like to use manythings.org, or even gamestolearnenglish.com to practice on the computer.

Thanks ladies. I used very basic worksheets with him today and they were too easy.
Of course, gamestolearnenglish.com is blocked by the DOE.

Sixth. He actually knows more than I thought, so that's good.
