SLP jobs and salary
Do you think SLP's are too common now? Is LI over saturated with SLP's like El Ed teachers? Are jobs few and far between?
How much do SLP's make working in the school district? Similar to a teacher salary? Also curious what the pay scale is for working in EI and CPSE...do they get paid per case (child) they take on? What about working in an agency setting?
If you feel more comfortable you can FM me.

Re: SLP jobs and salary
hi! I'm an SLP at a school in NJ. I don't know about the LI job market, but in NJ SLPs are still very much in demand. I work at a school and I'm on the same payscale as the teachers are. I started off on the master's scale, becasue the SLP degree involves a masters. so thats a plus. i think the best thing about SLP is that its not just school jobs. so if the school market ever gets saturated with SLPs, you still have other options for where to work. I've only ever worked in a school so i'm not sure about the pay in other settings. But I do know that I get e-mails from agencies that are paying $70 an hour/session. (these agencies place you in different settings like a school or EI or whatever).
