Attire question
I am meeting someone at a publishing company who knows a professor at my old grad school. He sent her my cv. It is not an interview, but a meeting to learn more about scientific publishing. Can I wear a pant suit instead of a skirt suit?

yes!
I almost always wear pants suit even for formal interviews....im not a fan of skirts

certainly. i work in publishing and the 2 companies i've worked at (one being a scientific publisher) the dress has been business casual, and some people look like they've rolled out of bed.
a pant suit is totally fine!

Oh, that is great to hear because I LOATHE pantyhose and always wear bare legs with skirts and dresses unless it is winter. Then I wear leggings or tights.
