Demo lesson help! 1st grade

Hi everyone!
Hubby was called in for a demo on monday (yay!) and I was just wondering if any of you have any ideas for a literacy demo lesson... probably linked to TC... as I'm assuming they are using that program!!
Its for a 1st grade gen ed position!

maybe he could do a lesson on sequencing with picture clues copies from the book. if its summer school visuals are great. i have lessons if he needs them just send me a message

I teach first grade in NYC and we use to do TC

what about one of these:

when good readers read they use the pictures to figure out a word

when good readers read they use the first letter and the picture to figure out a word

not sure if he is familiar with TC but it would go something like this:

introduce,
demonstrate,
continue to another page have students turn and talk to their partner to use the strategy to figure out the word (listen in to maybe 2 groups) stop and call on students you listened in on to share what they think.
review and explain.
"today and everyday boys and girls when you read I want you to (insert stragegy)"
When you go back to your seat I want you to take out a book and read and when you get to a word you do not know, (insert stragey).,
sit with a few students and find soemone who was doing this stratgy. before the end share a student who used this strategy.
