This may sound silly, but everytime I saw the cover I thought it was something like "Chicken Soup for the Soul" so I never bothered to pick it up!

Ditto. I could not finish it. Like the Italy part --bc I was IN Italy as I was reading but it was too depressing for me.

eh. overall it was a good book. I wasn't a fan of the India part. It was a little too religous for me.
I think its worth an attempt for you to read it

I'm reading it now and it is taking me...literally...months to finish it.
I am finally up to the "Love" part.
The India part ("Pray") moved soooo sloooow.
"Eat" (Italy) was by far my favorite.
I am determined to finish it before the movie comes out in a couple of weeks.

I  every time I saw this in the bookstore.
Overall I liked Eat, Pray, Love- Eat and Love better than Pray  (and my fave line from the whole book was in the Pray part). I think most of my book club friends were kind of eh about it though.
