Supply list vent
Or I should say lack of a supply list vent
Why can't our school supply us with the supply list for my son's 3rd grade class? What's so hard about putting it on the website or just sending it home the last day of school?? Does it change that much year to year? It's a single piece of paper with appx 15-18 items, no? Now is when the stores have supplies at the decent prices. If you want specific stuff, then the parents have to hunt for it. I was at Target today with supply list envy, there were several Moms walking around with lists. I was guessing at a few things I think he might need.
They did supply a list for my 1st grader....another vent....where do I find a plain white folder? They want 5 folders of various colors, which I'm cool with but white?? the hell!? If you are going to ask for obscure things like that (LOL a plain old white folder is obscure!), at least offer us the chance to order the supplies through school and be done with it. Other elementary schools in my district offer it so what gives??
OK my vent is over. Only parents of school age kids could understand

Re: Supply list vent
That DOES stink! Our school gave us the list with their report cards on the last day of school.. and they put it on the website... BUT I know that there is always SOMETHING that the individual teacher will want/need the first week of school. So I'll be the cranky one in my work clothes standing next to you on the insanely long line with my jaw clenched and heavy sighs emanating from my being!

Re: Supply list vent
I hit up Target awhile ago when the sale first started! Andrew got his list on the last day of school. Plus, all grades are listed on the website, along with each grade's reading list!
A white folder? I know I've seen them before, maybe try staples?

Re: Supply list vent
Target is selling a multi pack of colored folders like 10 or 15 for $1 or something. Check there- maybe white is one of them.

Re: Supply list vent
Staples def has plain white folders I would call the school and see if they're going to send home a supply list...maybe it will come when you get your child's welcome letter from their teacher (if your district does that.)
