1 week of bed rest with medicine?????

I see dr. Kofinas and my cervix has been a little on the short side since the beginning. It will measure anywhere from 32 to 36 in any given day~ its constantly changing...(36 is in the normal range)

Dr. Kofinas wants to try one week of bed rest with medicine to see if that helps. I am only 12 weeks! Has anyone done this and had success?? I think Dr. Kofinas is being extra cautious because his associate didn't think it was necessary but I had the week of so I said I would just do it.

I have a pretty active job...I am on my feet all day! I am hoping to work as long as possible

Im on bedrest now for a shortened cervix but Im almost 28 weeks. I guess with twins everybody is always extra cautious. If you have an active job, you're probably better off getting all the rest you can.

Just curious, what medicine did they give you? BC nothing was ever mentioned to me aside from bedrest?

Oh yes this was me last year. I started on the meds at 24 weeks. I had my girls at 32 weeks. PLEASE follow what they tell you. I did too much.

I was in and out of the hospital three times. The last time I told them I am staying here until I give birth. I was on hospital bedrest for three weeks.

If you need advice or want to vent FM me.

ETA-I was on procardia at one point I was taking it every 3-4 hours. Just think this time next year this will all be a distant memory.

Follow what Dr. Kofinas tells you! He is a godsend! I saw him at 25 weeks when he put an emergency cerclage in me. It was crazy, one nurse was giving me indomethican as I was still getting a sonogram done!!! I was on it for weekends only for a few weeks and then on procardia until 36 weeks and my water broke two days after I stopped the meds.

I had a similar experience. I started with contractions at 24 weeks, but they were mild. At 30 weeks I went into the hospital for 4 days and went home on bedrest and procardia. At first I was taking it every 6 hours.
Then the contractions started coming back around 35 weeks, went back to hospital for 2 days, got two shots of terbutaline, and upped the procardia to every 4 hours. Went back home on bedrest until my scheduled c-section at 37w5d.

Definitely do everything they tell you. You want to keep those babies cooking as long as possible!
