Re: Labeling supplies?

Our list indicated what needed to be labeled (stuff like her smock, backpack, folder) and what was to be shared by the class (stuff like crayons, markers, pencils, glue sticks, tissues)

I guess I'd label everything since they didn't say anything.

Yes we got the teacher and she then sent a letter home saying we could bring the stuff in tomorrow at the playdate but nothing about if it should be labeled. Guess it won't hurt to print out some labels and just slap them on.

We still don't have the bus info, but I did call yesterday and good thing, they didn't have Joey on a bus, only Mattingly. This school district really seems to have it together, we probably won't received info until friday so would have had no way to talk to anyone before school started.

At my school they have asked not too as they combine all the supplies for all the kids to use.

That would annoy me. I hope they don't do that.

Our classroom is communal too. you might not like the idea now, but I just think of the day that he loses his purple crayon and he really needs one and the kid next to him won't share. My kid is a loser of things, so it's a better system for us.

I always did this when I taught K. 5 year olds take FOREVER to take out, organize and put away their stuff so it's WAY easier to drop a community "supply caddy" onto the table and be done with it!Chat Icon
