A new member here........

I never in a million years think I'd be on the IF board........and then I was.

I certainly never in a million years think I'd be on this board......but I am.

Tried for almost 3 years...........never PG..........then end of August I got to see the most beautiful thing ever.......my first BFP.

WEEK 5 and 6........I had sonos showing a fluttering of a heartbeat, went in yesterday for my 7 week and there it was......my Devastation and Fear.......no heartbeat. My first pregnancy ever after trying for 3 years......has ended. I have to schedule a D&C ASAP to see what went wrong.

Grateful for this board.......as it gives me some relief but I sure hope we can get out of it soon and join PG board.....then Parenting.

Im scared of being put out for the D&C b/c I never have been put out before......and Im scared of the bleeding and cramping that may come along with it.....and very scared of the results.

It amazes me how certain women are chosen for these heartache of challenges. Some have no idea how lucky and blessed they are.

Infertility was something I always knew I'd be struggling with since I was told I had PCOS at a fairly young age (15).

Losing my son at 4 1/2 months pregnant?!?! ...... Never saw that one coming in 10000000000000000000000000000000000000 years!!

I can understand being SO scared for the procedure and being put out. That was me too exactly 6wks ago! I went in for a D&E which is a little different- but still my worst fear was being put out.

Honestly of everything I went through that day.. and especially that WEEK ... getting put out was so simple. I was awake in the OR for less than 5 mins. The anticipation was so much worse. It's true when they say emotionally anything you will go through is so much worse than the physical pain throughout all this. The cramping and bleeding after wasn't so bad either.

I am soooo sorry for your loss. You hear of other people going thru it......but NEVER think its gonna be you....then BAM!

Im also scared that if it took me 3 years.....am I on another road to a long journey again?? It just sux no matter how you look at it.

Im so sorry for your loss. I would get an appointment immediately with a Reproductive Endo. Three years is a long time and you should see a specialist to help you so that it doesn't take so long next time. My thoughts are with you.

So sorry for your loss. We are all here for you!
I miscarried at almost 10 weeks (no heartbeat) and decided against a D&C. Instead, I took 2 rounds of misoprostal to begin the miscarriage.
It was physically and emotionally painful, but I have to have hope and believe it was for a reason. THat was back in July and now I am starting IVF again and feel better than ever.
I wish you continued strenght and hope that you keep the faith.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a d &c on Aug 25th, 4 weeks ago. I too was very scared. I had alot of emotions then. It was not that bad physically. It does not take long, they put you out quickly and then you wake up in recovery. I was crampy, but it was no worse than period cramps and I did not bleed much at all, more like spotted. It lasted a week. The emotional aspect lasted much longer and I am still coping with that. I wish you all the best and the sooner you can get it the faster you can begin your grieving. So sorry for your loss. It's terrible to go through this. Luckily we have this as a good support system.


As for the D&C... don't be too scared. You're put out and wake up and it's over. It's a short procedure... everyone recovers different. For me I didn't really bleed only the first day and it was over. I didn't have cramps just sore for 2 days. My recovery was quick so that may be your case as well.

It's more emotional than physical pain.

Thank you guys so much for your kind words. Way too sweet.

Not much longer after I posted this, my DR called and fit me in to get my D&C today. Just got home now.

Im tired...cant wait to shower though!

Recovery takes the longest. So far I feel OK, a little bleeding, nothing crazy. Hope I dont get waken up in the middle of the night by cramps though. (lol)

For one of you who had asked, I was seeing an RE. This was a natural cycle we got PG on but I have seen an RE. The embryo will be tested and will find out in 3 weeks.

Again, thank you so much for your support. Its so nice to know I can come on here to vent.........we are here for each other!!!

I took 2 advil before I went to sleep just in case but I was fine and no cramping today either. I wasn't bleeding very heavy at all and today it's almost nothing. I thought it would be worse but it wasn't that bad, not that I would ever want to do it again. Now, I am just trying to move forward but emotionally I am a wreck. Hopefully next time will be different. Good Luck to you!
