[Update] more pics: We have a new member to our family! Our first dog!
We think we're going to name him Brinkley. He's a 9 month old English Labrador Retriever, purchased from the breeder that Karacg got Scout from - Gaeta Creek.
We do plan on having more and our next will be an older dog from the Labrador Retriever Rescue.
In the meantime, Brinkley is very sweet and loving, loves his humans, and likes giving me kisses. He's a mush and we're already totally gaga over him.  We go shopping this week and bring him home on 9/20 when my husband will be taking a week off of work to help him acclimate to his new home.

Sooooo Brinkely is home! 
We got all his papers and such this morning, he was a bit reluctant to go in the car but didn't get car sick or anything.
We tried a small walk before bringing him into the house and he was a little overwhelmed. He's not liking cars! I think they pretty much exercised him on their 2 acres and he's probably not been on a leash walking around the streets much.
Within an hour, he had checked out the house and was playing happily with us. He likes his toys a lot. We let him be a little while to explore and once he came back with DH's slipper in his mouth. And he tried to pick up the remote control. I'm teaching him "no". 
He knows absolutely no commands. We're starting from scratch here! So far, he's responding to "come" with me but not my husband so much. He's out on a long walk with him now. He'll get used to it and DH will have to be as assertive as I am with the commands.
So here are some new pics. I won't badger the Pet board with constant Brinkley pics, but I will be updating my website probably daily! 
I swear, we did not pick him because he matched our furniture.
He is thoroughly confused by the mirrors. But very friendly to his reflection.

This dog is absolutely beautiful!! Many years of happiness!! I think thats great that Dh is taking off to do that.. I think it was so smart!!

I got Cosmo from Frank & Gina......awesome breeders, Gina is just the sweetest thing.
Was the dog's original name "Boss"? If so I was BEGGING my hubby to get him

Thanks so much everyone! We are really so happy, and Saturday can't come soon enough!!
One of the great things to come of this is my boss will be letting me bring him to work with me one day a week. I think once he sees how well behaved he is, that might increase I hope!
He needs more dog and person socialization so my sister and I were hatching a plan last night to get him together with her Lab. She is having a party the weekend after we pick Brinkley up, so I will be bringing him to her house so our dogs can play together.

YES! It's Boss! How funny is that, that you met him. Tell your husband thank you for me. I knew other people must have been meeting him, but I'm so glad he was still available for us.
So you know how timid he can be at first. I think we're going to be good for him to bring him out of that a little. He seems like he will always be that calm/submissive dog underneath but I want to give him confidence in new situations. We already have so many outings in mind, Smithtown beaches, the dog park trails, playdates with other dogs, bringing him to work.
