Horse back lessons.....
So, on our fun weekend, we went apple picking, pumpkin picking and went on a horse with the boys.
They LOVED it. I would like to find a place that specializes in kids with Autism. Christiopher REALLY LOVED being on the horse.
Anyone know of any good places. I would prefer more Eastern Suffolk.

Horseability in Melville. I was just looking into it yesterday.
I'm thinking about doing it with Lance. He loved the pony rides too!

Suffolk special PAL has horseback lessons at a discount for kids w/ special needs. There was a middle island location at one point. Not sure if there still is. Check out their site

We do Horseability. And yes, it does get expensive. EI actually approved us for it, but since he transitioned out, we've had to pay. We may start doing every 2 weeks next year to ease the cost, but we think it's important for him to continue (we just try to cut out other things).
There are actually some programs that give grants for things like this. If I wasn't already in the process to getting "care at home", I would've been eligible for AHRC's family reimbursement program. They offer $1000 grants for special needs. I can get you info if you want.
I'm sure they're all great, but I've def heard wonderful things about Pal-o-mine. GL!
ETA: It's been so wonderful and so worth it! DS has made such great improvements and he LOVES it!!
