Did anyone commute
I commute to the city everyday from Ronkonkoma and once I get to Penn I walk about 10 min to my office, depending on foot traffic. I did this with DD from Babylon and it was tough toward the end but I did it, and I delivered 3 weeks early.
Did anyone else commute with twins? Was it really hard toward the end? Did you deliver early? Did your Dr. tell you put you on bed rest or tell you to stop commuting at some point?
TIA!

Re: Did anyone commute
I commuted until I was almost 34 weeks from Huntington to Brooklyn on the LIRR, then a few stops on the subway, and then a 4 block walk to my job. Near the end, the subway was the worst part bc of the stairs (and the fact that nobody would offer me a seat ). I would have continued to commute longer but the fluid around Georgie was decreasing and the dr said I should probably stop commuting. I worked from home until 36 weeks and delivered exactly at 36 weeks via emergency c/s. I was so scared that I was going to be put on bed rest. I wore flats for the entire pregnancy. I kept ice packs in my freezer at work and would put them on my ankles as soon as I got to work. I would get off my feet at soon as I got home every night. Some days I drove in. Other days, I would take a cab instead of the subway.
Just take it 1 day at a time. You'll know if/ when you need to stop.

Re: Did anyone commute
leslie you'll know when you need to stop. i was at work one day and since i'm a hairdresser i was on my feet the whole time. the doc told me to slow down at 20 weeks and i cut down my hours slowly. at 31 weeks i was done!! started having contractions at 33 weeks and delivered at 36 weeks. you'll just know when you can't do it anymore!! carrying twins is a lot different than just one. well at least for me it was!!! how are you feeling hon?

Re: Did anyone commute
Thanks! I'm sure I'll know. I just wanted to get an idea of what to expect . . .but I guess I won't know until I'm at that point. My office is moving even farther away from Penn Station and the prices are all going up. Right now I walk but once we move in Feb I dont know if I can! Ugh
I'm almost out of the first tri so I'm hoping to feel much better soon! Not quite there yet!
