All we have is free time.....right?

What do you do on a daily / weekly basis that takes up your time? What is your schedule like?

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

M-F: work 9-5, come home do dishes, make dinner, feed cats, make lunches and do dishes. After that either laundry, gym, ww meetings, visit parents, do some spot cleaning and perhaps visit a friend if i am lucky and typically bed is 10-10:30PM

Sat/Sun: complete house cleaning, outdoor work, usually projects on the house, big cooking items or baking, laundry, split some wood, eh relax and maybe just maybe get out to see some friends.

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

If I am lucky, i am home by 530, but for a good 4 or so months out of the year that is definitely not the case. Get home, cook dinner, choose something to clean in the house that day, maybe a load of laundry, sometime get a little tv in, then go to kickboxing, come home, relax with hubby finally or just go to bed.
I feel like I am always running around fitting errands into that too... can't even imagine what it will be like someday taking care of a child in that time!

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

M-F: work from 10-6.

Thursday nights - gym from 7-9

+ other weekdays evenings I go to the gym, depending on any after-work stuff. I'm always at the gym on Thursdays because I heart my Pilates class ever so.

Lately we've had a lot of shows to go to. I work in theatre so I get lots of comp tickets - the past few weeks we've gone to a bunch of B'way shows, a concert, and to see a few local bands on various days. These were almost all on weeknights.

Tonight we have the opening night of a film festival downtown.

Sundays is the day for errands...pick up the laundry at the laundromat, grocery shopping, any kind of cooking that I want to get done for the week (ie., making a big pot of soup).

Saturdays can sometimes be mega-planned or just lazing around watching movies.

It varies week-to-week, but generally there is at least one weekday where we have some kind of event to attend.

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

I work three jobs (one full time and two part time). There's no such thing as free time in my life.

Oh and then there's also cooking, cleaning, laundry, making sure to see the parents and IL's................

In no particular order: work, sleep, housework, sex (whenever possibleChat Icon) and socializing with friends. Weekends are reserved for sleeping, errands, laundry, and more sex...Chat Icon

Right now my free time is very limited. I am in school full time. The clinic rotation, homework and studying is my life.

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

my days off rotate, i don't have a standard M-F job.
i work 5 days a week and on the days i work, i am out of the house 5:30am til 5:30pm minimum. i would say AT LEAST once a week, i get stuck an hour or two late. some days (maybe 2x a month) i have to go in 2 hours early. occasionally i have to work overtime on my day off... that could be an 8 hour shift, or a 16 hour shift - ya never know.

when i come home from work, i work out (at home), feed the dogs, walk the dogs, eat dinner, do the dishes, make my lunch for the next day, and try to relax for an hour before bed. i go to bed by 10, as i get up by 4:15am.

on saturday evenings, i have dinner at my parents - sometimes this lands on a day off for me, sometimes i happen to be working that day.
on monday evenings i go to a kickboxing class.
on days off, i spend them doing laundry, food shopping, gardening, running errands, trying to see friends, getting as much quality time in relaxing with the dogs as i can, and spending time with dh if our schedules actually allow it (we work opposite shifts and only fall into days off together every 3 months for about 6 weeks at a clip).
we actually invested in a cleaning lady about a year ago - best $ i've ever spent... i don't know how i did it without her, bc as it is, i really don't know what free time is!

I commute 4 HOURS A DAY round trip. Therefore, home=zoned out. eat, do the dishes if I have energy, tv, surf. That's it. The train sucks the life out of me, not to mention my JOB.

Some nights like tonight I go to community board meetings, political/civic meetings. I'm a bit of an activistChat Icon

Weekends are with dh and my parents, clean up/laundry/food shop, in the summer I do beach cleanups Chat Icon

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

work M-F during the day, I'm home around 5:30.

Then at night I go to the gym (takes about hour & half or so), clean up around the house, make dinner, and do other chores, try to tackle my never-ending to-do list (which I procrastinate on way too much).

Also I relax, watch tv, use the computer, catch up with friends, etc.

On the weekends, I like shopping, eating out, watching sports, going to church, and going running (we like doing races on the weekends). I like spending time outdoors. Sometimes see family & friends & just unwind with DH. Also I can get more chores done, pay bills, do home improvements, etc.

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

Work- out of the house by 7:30 am - home by 3:30

Gym some days after work or at night

Cook most weekdays

Clean,laundry,dishes etc daily

Misc. nonsense for work and life...

Weekends-well we have had a lot of weddings and baby events this year so I have a shower or bach or wedding or chirstening on most weekends. Other than that we workout, go out with friends and family for dinner/drinks, visit parents, siblings etc.

I work 40 hours a week

I spend most nights at the gym if I can. If not, I tend to go out with friends or work on my writing. I go to sleep around 1 or 2 most week nights.

I spend weekends either cleaning, catching up on my life (bills, making plans, talking to family) or visiting family.

I go out a lot, too. Dates, parties, friends, etc.

I feel like I use my apartment to sleep, shower and hold my clothes.

Re: All we have is free time.....right?

I wouldnt say we have free time, because I make plans for DH and I to do things when we have spare time. Which is usually limited bc we get out of work at 6, usually go to the gym and then by the time we are out of there its just enough time to get home, make dinner, relax for an hour then go to bed.

But when we do have spare time is when I find the luxury in being a childless family. I can pick up and go wherever and whenever I want. If I come home one night from work and want to go to the mall for 3 hours or randomly go stop at a friends house I can with no worries.

All I have is free time. All of the freelancing work at my job was taken by other freelancers while I was away for my wedding. I can't deal with all the free time. I'm going nuts! It's going to be like this until December. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
