Do you feel like you got even more rude comments when pg?

Hi ladies. I'm new here. I'm due with twins in May - the c-section will be scheduled early May sometime. I have a 4 year old DD already. I'm not sure if I'm extra sensitive this time around, but I am noticing many more rude comments. We got together with a bunch of our neighbors last night and one woman was annoying me to no end. She talked about the financial implications of sending 2 to college at the same time (which I've been hearing already), about how huge I'm going to get (since according to her, I look so big already), she said she knew I was pregnant on Halloween (according to her, I looked 4-5 months preg. -- yeah, ok, it was freezing here and I had on my down coat most of the time in the dark so whatever) I really try not to let it bother me, it's just annoying. Is this something I should get used to? Did you hear alot of these types of things?

Yes, definitely!
I had a son first so I always heard "Oh no what would you do if you ended up with 2 more BOYS" That annoyed me the most of any comment.

Thanks, ladies. We are so excited. Janice, I posted an announcement on pregnancy last week (I was in hiding for awhile, so I came out.) I felt like I don't post so much anymore, so I didn't say anything on Parenting. Figured no one knows who I am over there anymore.

Julz, that is so rude. No one has said that (yet) about having 2 more girls. We'll be finding out the sexes the week after Christmas, so I'm sure I'll hear more "gems" after that. It just amazes me what people say.

Oh yeah! I've heard everything from, "Oh my goodness! I feel so bad for you!" to "You're only 5 feet tall and work on your feet.... how are you going to carry two babies?!" If only people knew how difficult it was for us to conceive. In fact, sometimes I tell them a little about what we've been through, just to shut them up!

Ugh, I feel ya. As if we didn't already think about what college tuition would cost regardless of the number of children we have.

The comments don't stop. And seem to only get worse. An older cashier at Target said to me last week, "Oh, so do you know what you are having?" I said, "Yes, girls". She responds, "Oh, I heard an s at the end of girls, I knew there had to be more than one in there." Uhhh.....really? Why? You have XRay vision?

yes!! in fact I had a few very close friends that I lose the minute I was pregnant. Actually, maybe they were not friends right?
I had a friend laugh dead in my face when I told her I was having twins. (her sister has twins n they r the devils spawn, although it didn't mean mine would be) I saw her maybe three times after that.
I had them at 39. I have two older kids as well. I was told my someone wow. when u r at the preschool pick up door u will be there with like twenty year olds! "o.k. ***** only if they were 15 when they gave birth and thanks"

I heard was it a mistake?
Are they all from the same father?


I just decided when someone was nosy I said it all to shut them up., yup, all same father, 8 years of infertility! a dcotor that lost his liscense, IVf they r my little sea monkeys, def not a mistake!

One thing I learned better late then never is anyone that talks **** or is nasty or spiteful is one jealous mean person and I just feel bad for them.
