Re: celiac

I don't have any experience w/gluten free foods, but I did want to give some hugs Chat Icon Chat Icon because it's very hard to deal with. I also wanted to recommend that you also need to check OTC products/vitamins because they also may contain gluten. GL Chat Icon

Re: celiac

my friend has it... i know she finds alot of things in trader joe's.
she had also managed to modify lots of food... like oats instead of breadcrumbs in meatballs, etc. Don't forget, potatos and rice and ok, she eats alot of that, and rice pasta instead of real pasta!

Re: celiac

my SIL is celiac and I work with kids with autism many of whom are gluten free!

There is an amaaaaazing bakery in the city with all sorts of treats like cakes, cupcakes, brownies that can help ease the transition for a 10 year old (or be a great place for birthday party snacks!) called babycakes

Bisquik now has a GF pancake mix

We frequent an italian restaurant in floral park called Stella Ristorante that has GF pasta

I'll try to ask my SIL for more food suggestions

oh and Mary was right, CHEX makes a great GF cinnamon cereal, like cinnamon toast crunch!
